Iain M. Banks: Use of Weapons

I took a third try to get on reading this one, and even then, at first, only because I had to. (I was been paid for writing about Banks’ science fiction.) I took time to get reading, yes, and the beginning didn’t really help — things happened to the main character I really didn’t want to happen to anybody. Not to mention the way the book was structured; one narrative going the normal way, the other from the end till beginning. In the end, all makes sense. Horrible sense. It could be Banks’ best work.
